When the Moon Howls..

For those who believe in mythological tales, it might not be very hard to learn about extraordinary events or about creatures that are more powerful than the human breed. The creatures that fall in the category between humans and animals , who are powerful, relentless, and mindless slaughterers, for whose existence there are no evidences but just stories. The creatures that make us feel their presence from time to time, who don’t want us to forget them.

Some of such creatures are WEREWOLVES, call it stories or myth but these legends cannot be ignored. From the last century there have been records of ferocious attacks, yet during the day there are no evidences of the creature responsible. Many of the werewolves’ sightings have been recorded in WISCONSIN where the origin of werewolves is believed to begun.

According to one legend in particular, there existed an early Native American tribe in Wisconsin called Fox. Also there lived a spirit god named WISAKACHEK who was a shape shifter type werewolf. One day two boys named Keme and Matchitechew of fox lineage hunting in the woods attracted the attention of Wisakachek. He intentionally went up to the boys and presented himself as lost and hungry. The brothers offered him a piece of their hunt. The same boys encountered WISAKACHEK a week later, but they told that since then they couldn’t catch any deer and were hungry. Very much impressed by the benevolence of the boys, WISAKACHEK blessed them with his powers also implying that they shall not use their power against humans but can use it for hunting. Both the boys used their powers to hunt for their entire village and thus became heroes of the clan. But one unfortunate day Matchitechew fell in argument with another clan boy and killed him in rage. Upon knowing this the tribe exiled them and forced them to live in woods.

The wrath of Wisakachek rained down on Matchitechew in the form of a spell that took his power of shape shifting at will, every day he would take human form and every night he would become a mindless wolf. Keme being innocent remained unharmed from Wisakachek’s curse.

Matchitechew is thus known as the father of the werewolves, being the first one and the creator of others.
